چکیده

DLC2 was identified due to striking sequence homology to DLC1. It localizes to a small region of 13q12.3, which is a locus frequently deleted in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) as well as in other cancers. Physical mapping of DLC2 in human genome revealed that it is in close proximity to the BRCA2 locus and flanked by microsatellite markers D13S171 and D13S267. The human DLC2 gene spans a region of 182 kb and contains 14 coding exons. Transcription

Regulation and Essentiality of the StAR-related Lipid Transfer (START) Domain-containing Phospholipid Transfer Protein PFA0210c in Malaria Parasites*

StAR-related lipid transfer (START) domains are phospholipid- or sterol-binding modules that are present in many proteins. START domain-containing proteins (START proteins) play important functions in eukaryotic cells, including the redistribution of phospholipids to subcellular compartments and delivering sterols to the mitochondrion for steroid synthesis. How the activity of the START domain ...

Give lipids a START: the StAR-related lipid transfer (START) domain in mammals.

The steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (StAR)-related lipid transfer (START) domain is a protein module of approximately 210 residues that binds lipids, including sterols. Fifteen mammalian proteins, STARD1-STARD15, possess a START domain and these can be grouped into six subfamilies. Cholesterol, 25-hydroxycholesterol, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine and ceramides are ligands...

The Lipid Transfer Protein StarD7: Structure, Function, and Regulation

The steroidogenic acute regulatory (StAR) protein-related lipid transfer (START) domain proteins constitute a family of evolutionarily conserved and widely expressed proteins that have been implicated in lipid transport, metabolism, and signaling. The 15 well-characterized mammalian START domain-containing proteins are grouped into six subfamilies. The START domain containing 7 mRNA encodes Sta...

Crystal structure of the Mus musculus cholesterol-regulated START protein 4 (StarD4) containing a StAR-related lipid transfer domain.

The x-ray structure of the mouse cholesterol-regulated START protein 4 (StarD4) has been determined at 2.2-A resolution, revealing a compact alpha/beta structure related to the START domain present in the cytoplasmic C-terminal portion of human MLN64. The volume of the putative lipid-binding tunnel was estimated at 847 A(3), which is consistent with the binding of one cholesterol-size lipid mol...

(1)H, (13)C, and (15)N NMR assignments for the Bacillus subtilis yndB START domain.

The steroidogenic acute regulatory-related lipid transfer (START) domain is found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes, with putative functions including signal transduction, transcriptional regulation, GTPase activation and thioester hydrolysis. Here we report the near complete (1)H, (15)N and (13)C backbone and side chain NMR resonance assignments for the Bacillus subtilis START domain protein ...
